People Lead & Floor Manager – Grays Point Activity Centre

Part-time (4 or 5 days/week – 30 hours)
Fixed term contract : Jan 2026 – April 2027 | 💰 Above Award hourly rate + up to 15% WRG Increase



Are you an organised, people-focused leader who thrives in early childhood settings? We're looking for a People Lead & Floor Manager to support our team, guide daily operations, and help create a warm and welcoming space for children and families.



What We Offer

  • Above Award Pay
  • Eligible for the Workforce Retention Grant (WRG) – up to 15% pay increase until 30 November 2026
  • Flexible working options – choose 4 or 5 weekdays (up to 30 hours/week). Potential to do more hours if you wish.
  • Over ratioed rosters
  • No external or ‘on call’ Educators
  • Role includes a minimum of 7 set shifts during term time with the children of:
  • Morning: 7:00am–8:45am
  • Afternoon: 3:15pm–6pm
  • Additional non-contact hours for admin & leadership duties
  • We open School Holidays and Pupil Free Days for Vacation Care 7:30am to 6pm so your hours will vary during these days. You can request your shifts around your availability, and we close Fridays during Vacation Care.
  • Christmas shutdown period 20th December 2025 to 7th January 2026.
  • Fixed-term role from now or January 13th 2026 to April 2027.
  • Future roles possible after contract ends.
  • Subsidised Child Care fees at our Centre for eligible school-aged children during term time and Vacation Care.
  • We operate out of our beautiful aesthetic big purpose built building on the Grays Point School site.
  • Must work closely with the Centre Manager and Educational Leader (EL) to ensure the delivery of high-quality education and care and a professional Centre.


Core Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations, and the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care.


Provide a safe, healthy, and educational environment where the wellbeing of children is paramount.


Lead, support, and develop a high-performing team through active mentoring, guidance, and performance discussions.


Support and assist GPAC in achieving and maintaining it’s standards of excellence and continued success.


Collaborate with the leadership team to uphold and strengthen our culture of high-quality care and service.


Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with parents, children, and staff.


Create and manage structured team rosters to ensure adequate shift coverage and staff accountability.


Lead and support staff during key floor shifts, promoting effective teamwork and smooth daily operations.


Share the responsibilities of the Responsible Person.


Oversee and ensure completion of daily cleaning duties and operational checklists.


Conduct monthly First Aid audits and accuracy of Incident and Injury Forms.




About You

  • Confident leader with strong people skills
  • Well spoken, highly organised, great communication skills, energetic and proactive
  • Experience in early childhood and/or a team focused environment
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential
  • Full driver’s licence and own vehicle required due to our location
  • Working with Children Check
  • Police check or can apply for a clear record prior to commencing
